6/11/14 : Chess Championship – Shardul Tambe (I/A) got 3 points in 7 rounds on 21^st September’ 2014 and 2 points in 6 rounds on 26^th October’2014 in 1^st Shine Memorial Mega Inter – School Rapid Chess Championship 2014 conducted by Kalyan Taluka Buddhibal Sanstha.

7/11/14 to 21/11/14 : Cultural Class Presentation – The young , enthusiastic students of the primary section from std.I to V presented dances , songs and a drama for their Cultural Class Presentation. It was a wonderful opportunity for each child to showcase his / her talent. Themes for the classes were as follows:

8/11/14 : Fancy Dress Competition (Nursey) – Students from Nursery A , B , C , D participated in the Fancy Dress Competition on 8^th November’14 in large numbers. The topic ‘Best Out of Waste’ showcased some of the finest ideologies of the parents and performances by the kids scuba diver, newspaper doll and clock made of CD’s were some of the examples of exemplary participation.                                                                   Keep up the enthusiasm dear tiny tots!

10/11/14 : Pool Day Begins (Pre – Primary) – Pre – Primary children rejoiced the beginning of the Pool Days from 10^th November’14 onwards. Children were filled with excitement to be a part of this fabulous water play activity.

14/11/14 : Children’s Day – Isn’t it the best sight to see our children smile? To see them reach out and touch the sky? But what about those children who have never got a chance to do so? We set out to give a ray of hope , a smile and an opportunity to 36 children from a nearby municipality school Anand Dighe Dharma Veer Vidyalaya, Milind Nagar. On the morning of children’s Day i.e. 14^th November’2014 we welcomed them in our school with open arms and love filled hearts. A lot of activities were planned for them. The children left the school with reluctant hearts asking us when they would visit us again.

20/11/14 : Workshop On Best Practises In English Language Teaching – A workshop was organised for the English faculty with the launch of New Gulmohar (English Text book) by Orient Black Swan at Hotel Kohinoor Park (Dadar). Innovative methods on reading , writing, pronunciation skills and the features of the new  textbook features were covered by the speaker Ms.Heemal Handoo Bhat.

21/11/14 : English Recitation Competition (Jr.Kg) – The little tiny tots of Jr.Kg actively participated in large numbers in the English Recitation Competition on 21^st November’14. Their expressions and actions were marvelous!

22/11/14 : Parenting Workshop – Effective parenting workshop was organised for the parents . Mr.Ramesh Partani – an internationally acclaimed management and spiritual trainer was invited as theResource person. The workshop was divided into 2 sessions –                                                                                Session 1 – For parents whose kids are in the age group of 2 ½ yrs to 6 yrs                                                    Session 2 – For parents whose kids are in the age group of 7 yrs to 15 yrs

Concepts like IQ , EQ , SQ , Multiple intelligence , self-confidence , mental toughness , unconditional love were the main topics in the workshop.

23/11/14 : 3^rd State Level Okinawan Karate Championship (2014) – The 3^rd State Level Okinawan Karate Championship (2014) was organised by Force Martial Arts Academy (FMA) under the guidance of Sensei Santosh Bhor at Thane Jillha Koli Samaj Hall. On 23^rd November’2014 Mst.Kaushik Gage (IV/B) won 2^nd place (Silver Medal) in KATA  moves & Mst.Ojas Kothe (VI/B) also won 2^nd place (Silver Medal)in KATA  moves. Well done children!

24/11/14 : Health Record – The school took an initiative of collecting the health records of al the students which would help the school nurse to provide medical help to them.

25/11/14 :  Flag Day – On 25^th November’2014 Flag Day was celebrated. It is a day observed by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) every year which spreads the message of Communal Harmony and National Integration. As a Fund raising a Activity students from std.IV to IX and the staff were requested to donate Rs.5/- and stick ‘Flag Stickers’ on their dress. A group Poster Making Activity was also organised for students’ of std IV to IX

26/11/14 to 28/11/14 : Trinity GESE Exams – Trinity GESE exams were conducted for Grade 1 to Grade 8 from 26^th November’2014  to 28^th November’ 2014. The Trinity examiner Miss.Beverly Bembridge having 17 years of teaching experience, conducted the assignment. Much of her teaching career has been overseas, in Greece, Czech Republic, Loas & New Zealand in both state school and private language schools.

 27/11/14 – Thanksgiving Day (Pre-Primary) – Students of the Pre-Primary section participated in a very heart warming celebration - ‘The Thanksgiving Day’ on 27^th November’ 14. They made personalised Greeting Cards and handed it over to teachers, support staff, bus drivers, conductors, their house maids to express their gratitude towards them.  Thank you children!

28/11/14 : One Nation Reading Together (ONRT) – On 28^th November 2014, ONRT was celebrated in Birla School, Kalyan organised by Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd. ONRT is an annual event wherein books are granted to children who normally have no access to them. The event encourages the ‘habit of reading’ activity. The children were asked to make book marks. Before beginning the activity a reading pledge was taken prepared by every participating child. Scholastic India donates 100 books on behalf of the participant schools to the library of a needy school / NGO.

28/11/14 : Think and Learn – Times NIE ‘Think and Learn’ challenge 2014 – 15 an exam based on Analytical & logical reasoning was conducted on 28^th November’ 2014 for the classes IX & X. 240 students appeared for the exam out of them 46 students were qualified for the 2^nd round. Sumeet Chugh – IX/C from our school was felicitated as the school topper and was awarded with a ‘Samsung Galaxy Tab 3’.

28/11/14 : Pink Day (Pre-Primary) – Pink Day was celebrated by the Pre-Primary students with a lot of zest & zeal. The entire corridor looked like a fairy land, the classrooms pink all over ! The entire school looked serene and eye soothing. The teachers and students all dressed in pink looked like fairies and angels. Happy Pink Day!

29/11/14 : Workshop on Effective Techniques of Teaching Maths – A  workshop for Maths faculty was organised by Ratna Sagar publishers from 9:00am to 3:30pm at Celebration Hall (Thane). Around 150 teachers from various school attended this workshop. A whole lot of mathematics concepts along with psychological well-being was covered in the workshop by the speaker Ms.Aditi Singhal

29/11/14 : Dance Competition (Nursery) – The tiny tots of Nursery A , B , C & D danced with great enthusiasm to the tunes of peppy, Bollywood numbers. The expressions, style, attitude, make-up, accessories and command over their tiny movements was something to watch out for. Way to go kiddos!

29/11/14 : Picnic (Jr.Kg to VIII) –On 29^th November’ 2014, students of Jr.Kg to VIII for a picnic to Tikujiniwadi located at Thane. The Pre-primary students enjoyed themselves at Dinosaur World and Amusement Park. The primary and secondary students were in their ‘Masti’ mode at Water Park.

29/11/14 : Quiz – Inner Wheel Club of Ambernath had organised a General Knowledge Quiz on 29^th November’2014. A team of Krishnakant Pandey, Parth Ahire and Nirmit Jallawar represented our school and reached the finals.
