GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION


The Mahatma’s birthday was celebrated in the school with a number of activities on 2nd October, 2015. Dr. Savita Singh, an eminent Gandhian, was the guest of honour for the programme.The programme was also witnessed by the Chairman, Shri O.R. Chitlange , Mrs.Santoshji Chitlange, President of Cenray Mahila Pragati and other invited dignitaries form Century Rayon.


The programme started with the Sarvadharma Prarthana by the students. The teachers of Birla School presented-‘YUGANTAR’, a skit based on the implementation of Gandhian philosophy in today’s scenario .It was followed by a story narration- ‘VYAKTITVA  KI NEEV’ on one of Gandhiji’s life’s  experiences by Aditya Raka, a Student of class IV.


Students of Class II and III enthralled one and all by the rendition of the Bhajan-‘Bolo Ram Raja Ram’.


The engaging debate on the topic ‘Leaders Then & Politicians Now’ by Master. Vedant Prasannkumar, Miss. Devanshi Mishra and Master. Sandeep Shenoy of Class XII, held everyone’s attention and ignited the young minds.


‘Ram Ke Gungan Kariye’, a bhajan by the Birla School teachers, made the entire atmosphere serene and sacred.


The chief guest –Dr Savita Singh addressed the gathering by sharing incidences and some rare photos of Gandhiji and his influence .The programme ended with the vote of thanks by the Chairman, Shri O.R.Chitlange.


DANCE COMPETITION


Our Jr. KG (A, B, C, D, E) kids participated with full enthusiasm and fervour for the dance competition on October 5, 2015, and October 6, 2015, respectively.  Vibrant outfits, catchy numbers, innovative props and the efforts put in by the parents to prepare the children for the event was commendable. 


Sr. KG (A, B, C, D) Dance Competition was conducted on October 28, 2015, and October 29, 2015, respectively.  Our Tiny Tots of Sr. KG danced with great enthusiasm to the tunes of peppy Bollywood numbers.  The expression, style, attitude and command over their tiny movements were something to watch out for. Our Tiny Flowers Rocked the Stage .

FIELD TRIP TO RELIANCE FRESH


Field trips are a part of learning. These are important for the awareness and inculcation of the real learning of life. A field trip was organized for our students of Jr. KG A, B, C, D, E and Nursery A, B, C, D to Reliance Fresh on October 12, 2015. Children were taken around and shown various vegetables like broccoli, red cabbage, red and yellow capsicum and fruits like kiwi, plum, strawberry, etc.  Our students’ response was great as they were able to identify most of the vegetables and fruits that were taught to them.  This was our next step at Birla School to encourage healthy eating habits for our blooming buds.   Indeed, a highly regarded learning experience for all of them.


PICNIC


Jr. KG and Sr. KG students had a fun-filled picnic at Funland Paradise on October 17, 2015.  It was a fabulous picnic spot.  Children enjoyed the healthy breakfast of idli, chutney and poha that was served to them.  A surprise magic and puppet show was organized for our children.  The whole area echoed by the sound of laughter of our children.  Children enjoyed the fun rides a lot, especially the train ride.  Children relished the lunch a lot as they were too tired after the fun rides. Children were given Candy Floss, Ice Cream, and Popcorns which doubled their excitement and happiness. 


RECITATION COMPETITION


 JR. KG students participated in English Recitation Competition on October 19, 2015.  The objective of competition was to build confidence, improve fluency and enhance expressions of students.  The students participated in this competition with enormous zeal and were pleased to deliver their learning on stage.

NAVRATRI CELEBRATION


Students of pre-primary celebrated Navratri with great gaiety and fervour on October 21, 2015.  Children came dressed in ethnic attires.  The Activity Area was decorated to set the mood for some live garba and dandiya.  The excitement and energy was in full swing as the Activity Area echoed with fun and fast traditional garba songs. Children enjoyed playing garba with their friends and teachers.


Burning of Ravana Effigy marked the end of evil and beginning of good times.


Nursery event “Dance With Moms” was enjoyed by all the mothers and children.  All Mothers looked stunning in their traditional attires.  It was an eye-catching moment for all of us.


Kudos to all Mothers for making this event a memorable one!!!


 


BLACK AND WHITE DAY


Black and White Day was celebrated by our Tiny Tots on October 30, 2015. Children and teachers were dressed in black and white.  Classrooms were decorated with objects that were black and white in colour.  Children spoke a few lines about their favourite objects that they had brought.   Fun-filled activities like Magic Painting on airplane, Wool sticking on Yak, Finger Printing on Ant, Magic Painting of X-ray were all done by our Nursery kids.  Activity of our Jr. KG and Sr. KG students included Colouring Panda and Zebra. Group Activity of Snowman made of cotton balls was also done by our Jr. KG students. 


Takeaways for Jr. KG students were mask made of black chart paper and for Sr. KG, it was a panda mask made of paper plate.


NSO EXAM –OCTOBER 20, 2015


402 students from Birla School participated in the National Science Olympiad (NSO) conducted on 20th October 2015.

CLASS PRESENTATIONS-OCTOBER 26 TO 30,2015


Class presentations for classes I to V was held in the school premises from 26th October to 30th October 2015.


The main aim for having such class presentations is to give each and every child a chance to explore their hidden talent, get rid of stage fear and build camaraderie with fellow classmates. The students were prepared on different themes.

CLASS 4 – Tribals of India


CLASS 5 – International dance forms


Each Class performed on three beautifully choreographed dances, rendered three melodious songs, and a drama that conveyed a meaningful message.


The class presentations were a grand success as it boosted the children’s confidence. This would not have been possible without the relentless efforts by the teachers. The children were beaming with joy after the presentations. The parents congratulated the staff for their efforts.
