Teachers’ Day celebrations

Teachers’ Day was celebrated in the school on 3rd September, 2016.  The honourable guest for the occasion was Mrs. Santoshji Chitlange. The other invites were Principals, Committee Members and dignitaries from Century Rayon and Birla College. The programme started with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the honourable guest Smt. SantoshJi Chitlange which was then followed by a song,  group dance and western song performed by the students of BSK for their loving teachers. The students took great effort to ensure that the teachers enjoy every bit.   The teachers were honoured for their outstanding contribution towards the development of the institution. The programme was well set to bring delight to all the audience. The programme concluded with a word from the Chairman. In his speech, he attributed and acknowledged the efforts of teachers in bringing out the best in a child. The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by Mrs. Deepali Solanki.

Teen Ka Tadka

Pre-Primary Department conducted the Teen-Ka-Tadka Competition for the Sr. KG students along with their parents. This competition was conducted on September 10, 2016 and September 17, 2016. The trio had to prepare delicacies without using fire.   The objective of this competition was to fortify the bonding between the parents and their children.

Drawing and Colouring Competition

Drawing and Coloring Competition was conducted on September 22, 2016 on the topic “Sea Life”.  All the preprimary children participated in this competition. It was a great day for self- expression using colours.

Inter house Competitions

Inter house competitions inculcate the spirit of healthy competition among students.  The inter – House activities give all students the opportunity to participate in art, literary, music and other activities with the aim of raising their self-esteem, developing self-confidence and giving opportunities for leadership and teamwork.

The Image Enhancement Workshop

This Workshop was organized for the female PTA members on 17th September, 2016. It was conducted by a renowned resource person Ms. Greeshma Thampi, Chief Image Consultant and Director at Avancé Image Management. The following areas were covered -Concept and Importance of Image, Body Language, Etiquette and Dining Etiquette, Importance of Dressing, Body Shape Analysis, Accessories, Self Esteem, Grooming & Make-up. The workshop proved to be very effective and was thoroughly appreciated by the PTA members.

Parental Behaviour Workshop

This workshop was organized for the parents in the School activity hall. It was scheduled for 4 Saturdays as per the age group of the students. The workshop was conducted by experts Ms.Harpreet Randhawa and Ms. Kashish Chhabria. Around 500 parents participated in the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to encourage parents to identify their children’s mental state and to reflect on their own mental state and behavior as parents. The ultimate goal was to build positive relation between the parent and the child.

Workshop for Teachers

The Centre for development of advanced computing(C-DAC) has developed tools such as OLABS (Online labs), e-basta and Assessment and Monitoring Framework(AMF) with the idea to provide schools with effective system for managing their assessment process  as well as to provide students with the ease and convenience of conducting experiments and learning activities over internet. The attempt was to bring the publishers of school books, teachers and the student on a common platform to ease the learning process. A workshop regarding the same was conducted on 23rd September. During the workshop the teachers were given hands on experience with certain apps. This unique workshop was attended by Mrs. Revati Negi and Mrs. Raziya Koya Parakkal.

Kavita Pathan

On 27th September, 2016, three teachers from the Hindi Department Mrs. Anita C, Mrs. Anjana S and Mrs. Aruna R participated in the Kavi Sammelan at Birla College to recite their poems. During the same week i.e. on 29th September Mrs. Anita C had a privilege to judge the Kavita Pathan Competition held at Hindi High School, Joshi Baug Kalyan. She also recited her poem at the end of the programme.

Grandparents Day

“Grandparents fill the World with Love and Grandkids make life Grand.”

 To treasure this beautiful relationship and to appreciate their invaluable contribution they make to the lives of their grandchildren, Pre-Primary Department celebrated Grandparents’ Day on September 29.  Children expressed their love for their very special family members through song and dance.  There were plenty of hugs and kisses all around as the Grandparents relished the opportunity to share in the lives of their little darlings at school. The children were very excited to make their grandparents feel special.

Green Day

 Each colour has its own significance. Students and teachers celebrate different colour days in the school to make the pre-primary students familiar with colours.  Green Day was celebrated on September 30, 2016.   The tiny tots were dressed in green attire.  There was an atmosphere of exuberance all around. The entire Pre-Primary Section, Classrooms and Bulletin Boards were decorated according to the theme adding to the spirit of the day. The teachers showed different objects and things from the environment like vegetables, plants, etc. and also encouraged the Children to speak a few lines about it. The children were very thrilled and excited to share it with their friends.  They did many activities like Leaf Printing, hand printing on tree, etc.  They also made headgears and stick puppets of fruits and vegetables which were given to them as takeaways.  Their worksheets were displayed on the notice boards. It was a day full of learning and enjoyment.

Vegetable Day

To make our Tiny Toddlers understand the importance of vegetables, we celebrated the Vegetable Day on September 30, 2016 with great excitement.  The corridors displayed underground vegetables, climbers, leafy vegetables, etc.  On this special day, children were asked to bring their favourite vegetables. They brought them to the class to share with their friends. The tiny tots also learnt about the taste, colour and texture of each vegetable. Jr. Kg Students brought boiled/salad vegetables and made sandwiches which they relished a lot.  Sr. KG students had setup a Vegetable Market displaying all the vegetables.  All the classes visited the Vegetable Market.  Children were very excited and they really enjoyed the Vegetable Day to the fullest.
